SLQS Oman CSR Project “The Hope” – A Step Beyond Professional Boundaries
The SLQS Oman CSR Project “The Hope” is a meaningful initiative launched by the Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors’ fraternity in Oman to extend its impact beyond the professional sphere and into the community.
Driven by the vision of the SLQS Steering Committee 2019/2020, this CSR initiative was created to support underprivileged families and demonstrate the collective social responsibility of Sri Lankan professionals working in Oman.

SLQS Oman expresses sincere gratitude for all members who contributed to making this project successful. The project is at 80% progress now.
Identifying a Family in Need
As part of this initiative, SLQS Oman identified a low-income family in the Katharagama area of Sri Lanka who were living in extremely challenging conditions. Their existing home was built with:
- Clay walls
- Clay flooring
- Metal sheet roofing
The family consisted of:
- Father and mother
- Two young children
- An elderly grandmother
With no stable or permanent income, the family faced daily hardships and lacked access to safe and secure housing.

Building Hope Through Action
Recognizing the urgent need for support, SLQS Oman took a bold and compassionate step to donate and construct a new house for the family.
This project symbolizes more than just building a house—it represents:

- Security and dignity for the family
